Appearing on Wednesday: Erin Jackson
Over the next week, we’ll be highlighting the amazing ladies appearing in our August 11 kickoff show.
Does Erin Jackson look familiar? That’s because she was a semifinalist on Last Comic Standing … and you might have seen her on Ellen … or Comedy Central. Also, Marie Claire magazine called her “hilarious”; I don’t know how you get Marie Claire magazine to do that.
According to her Twitter bio, Erin “enjoys scrapbooking and gangsta rap.” Erin is also a master of The Internets — she’s been making Me In Your City videos for places she tours to (Indianapolis, Reno, Providence, Erie…).
Here’s her official bio — she politely sent me a shorter version, but I liked the ending on the long version.
Armed with a megawatt smile and a pocket full of dreams, Erin Jackson is poised to conquer the world of stand-up. In fact, she’d probably be well on her way to superstardom by now if her friends and family hadn’t spent so many years stealing her joy.
In addition to working at numerous colleges and comedy clubs each year, Erin has garnered national attention with performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham. She was a semifinalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and was a featured writer and performer for TBS’s Bitcom Series. Erin has also made several appearances on The Bob and Tom Show.
Erin is currently peddling her comedic wares at venues all around the country, and while she’s in no rush to achieve celebrity status, she is looking forward to the day when she becomes famous enough to move to Hollywood, buy a mansion and marry a White woman — the ultimate symbol of success for Black celebrities.
Check out this video: Do you believe children are the future?
I think the thing I loved most about this video was “Don’t be greedy, that’s the joke.”
